What we set out to do for every mentee.

Networking and collaboration
Create a supportive community where mentees can connect with peers, mentors, and industry professionals to expand their professional networks.

Equip mentees with the essential tools and support to successfully transition into their chosen careers, ensuring they are well-prepared for the job market and professional environments.
Personal growth and academic success
Support the holistic development of mentees, enhancing their confidence, time management, and problem-solving abilities to achieve academic excellence.
In practice a mentee meets their mentor weekly or fortnightly over video, works on a project scoped to their level, and gets help with the things that are hard to learn alone — reading the literature, framing a question, writing it up. Some pairs aim at a conference paper or publication; others aim at skills, with no formal output. That is agreed between mentor and mentee at the start.
Code of conduct

This code applies to all participants — mentors, mentees, organizers, and guests — in any BSRI-affiliated project or activity.

Treat everyone involved with respect and professionalism.
Equity, diversity, inclusivity
Promote equal opportunities, value diversity, and strive for inclusivity.
A harassment-free environment
No form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination will be tolerated.
Confidentiality
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information shared within collaborations.
Scientific and academic integrity
Uphold honesty, objectivity, and transparency in research and academic pursuits. Plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, and misrepresentation of credentials are prohibited.
Reporting. Violations may be reported using the form below, and may be reported anonymously. Consequences range from a warning through to permanent removal from the program and notification of the individual’s institution. Retaliation against anyone who reports a violation is itself a violation.
This code is reviewed annually and revised as necessary.
